Seasonal Beauty Advisor
About The Position
The Seasonal Beauty Advisor (BA) provides an exceptional experience for Ulta Beauty guests by identifying their individual needs, completing cashier tasks, keeping fixtures stocked, maintaining store cleanliness, and completing assigned duties. The role supports the leadership team by contributing to store performance, guest service, and compliance with operating procedures. It requires a passion for the beauty industry, strong guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge. The advisor engages guests, answers product and service questions, shares promotions, and recommends complementary offerings. The position also includes makeup applications, skincare analysis, product demonstrations, appointment booking, and support for in-store events. Advisors work with store teams to meet sales and service goals, maintain merchandise and store standards, and carry out operational tasks such as inventory, resets, and shipment processing. The schedule is flexible and includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- High school diploma preferred.
- One year of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred.
- Demonstrated passion for guest service and competency in selling.
- Proficiency with basic technology, such as point-of-sale systems and Apple devices.
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Ability to troubleshoot.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to move throughout the store and perform frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and twisting during a shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 25 pounds during a shift.
- Ability to continuously coordinate and manipulate objects during a shift.

Responsibilities
- Contribute to store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni-channel sales, and retail shrink.
- Greet and engage guests, personalize service, answer questions, share promotions, and recommend products or services.
- Handle customer service, sales, refunds, exchanges, and online orders courteously.
- Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations.
- Book appointments and support services and in-store events.
- Stay informed about products and services, including their ingredients and benefits.
- Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
- Support an inclusive environment for teammates, peers, and guests.
- Share information about the guest loyalty program, credit, and the Ulta Beauty app.
- Collaborate with managers and associates to help grow the business.
- Participate in ongoing brand and category training.
- Follow company policies, procedures, standards, and dress code.
- Keep assigned work areas replenished, signed, and faced, and ensure testers are available.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including the salesfloor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, and break area.
- Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, inventory procedures, and shipment processing using company technology and best practices.
- Protect company assets by following loss-prevention practices and providing guest service.
- Complete other operational tasks as directed.
