Seasonal Associate - Famous Footwear
About The Position
As a Famous Footwear Seasonal Associate, you help create a welcoming store environment and provide a strong shoe-shopping experience for every customer. You stay informed about trends, share product knowledge, and help customers find styles and brands that suit their needs. You contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture and support individual and team success. You help maintain store operations by handling tasks such as pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory, while keeping the store clean, organized, and easy to shop. You engage customers, support sales goals, communicate with teammates, follow company policies and procedures, and seek feedback to develop your skills. You may assist with training and developing teammates as needed. Other responsibilities may be assigned to meet business needs, and overtime may be required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
- Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, partnering with the Store Sales Manager and/or Assistant Managers as needed.
- Working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
- Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily retail tasks, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
- Keep the store clean, organized, and merchandise easy to shop in accordance with company standards.
- Provide attentive customer engagement and recommend shoes and styles that meet customers’ needs.
- Share knowledge of trends, brands, and products with customers.
- Review store performance and help drive sales to achieve goals.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to support understanding.
- Follow company policies and procedures and act with integrity.
- Seek and respond to feedback to improve skills and professional development.
- Help foster an inclusive, respectful, and positive work environment.
- Assist teammates with training and development when needed.
- Work overtime when required to meet business needs.
