Seasonal Associate - Famous Footwear
About The Position
As a Famous Footwear Seasonal Associate, you help create a welcoming store environment and deliver engaging customer experiences. You share knowledge of shoe trends and brands, help customers find styles that meet their needs, and support a positive in-store culture. You work with the store team to keep operations running smoothly, contribute to sales goals, and provide customers with the Famous Feeling. The role supports daily retail operations, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory, while maintaining a clean, organized, and shoppable store. Associates are expected to follow company policies and procedures, communicate clearly, seek and respond to feedback, and contribute to an inclusive and respectful workplace. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed to meet business needs; overtime may be required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
- Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion when partnering with the Store Sales Manager and/or Assistant Managers, as needed.
- Working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
- Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily store tasks, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
- Help keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop in accordance with company standards.
- Engage customers and provide attentive service, product recommendations, and help finding the right fit and styles.
- Stay informed about trends and share relevant knowledge with customers.
- Promote Famous Footwear's customer-focused culture and support consistently positive customer experiences.
- Review store performance and help drive sales to achieve goals.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to ensure understanding.
- Follow company policies and procedures and seek feedback to improve skills and professional development.
- Contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and respectful work environment and support teammates.
- Assist with training and development of teammates when needed.
- Partner with the Store Sales Manager and/or Assistant Managers as needed.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed to meet business needs; overtime may be required.
