Seasonal Associate - Famous Footwear
About The Position
As a Famous Footwear Seasonal Associate, you provide an engaging shoe-store experience by creating a welcoming environment, sharing product and trend knowledge, and helping customers find styles that meet their needs. You contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture and support store performance through customer service, sales, and operational work. You help keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop by handling pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory tasks in line with company standards. You engage customers, support sales goals, communicate with teammates, follow company policies, seek feedback, and assist with training and development when needed. Other responsibilities may be performed as needed to meet business needs; overtime may be required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
- Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in partnership with the Store Sales Manager and/or Assistant Managers, as needed.
- Working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
- Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
Responsibilities
- Create a welcoming store environment and provide attentive customer engagement.
- Share knowledge of shoes, brands, and trends, and recommend suitable styles and fits to customers.
- Complete store operations tasks, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
- Maintain a clean, organized store where products are easy to shop.
- Review store performance and contribute to sales goals.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to teammates.
- Follow company policies and procedures, seek feedback, and pursue skill development.
- Promote an inclusive and respectful work environment and support teammates.
- Assist with training and development when needed.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed to meet business needs; work overtime when required.
