About The Position

The Seasonal Associate at Famous Footwear helps create a welcoming store environment and a positive customer experience. The role combines customer service and product recommendations with daily retail operations, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory. Associates keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop, contribute to sales goals, communicate with teammates, follow company policies, and support an inclusive team culture. The position may require overtime to meet business needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
• Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in partnership with the Store Sales Manager and/or Assistant Managers as needed.
• Working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily store tasks, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
• Keep the store clean, organized, and merchandise easy to shop in accordance with company standards.
• Engage customers and provide attentive service, product recommendations, and assistance finding suitable styles and fit.
• Stay informed about trends and share product knowledge with customers.
• Review store performance and contribute to sales goals with accountability and urgency.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to teammates.
• Follow company policies and procedures and seek feedback to improve skills and professional development.
• Promote an inclusive, respectful, and positive work environment and support teammates.
• Assist with training and development of teammates when needed.
• Work overtime when required to meet business needs.
