About The Position

The Seasonal Associate at Famous Footwear helps create a welcoming in-store experience and provides attentive customer service, helping shoppers find shoes that fit their needs and preferences. The role also supports daily store operations, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory, while keeping the store clean, organized, and easy to shop. Associates contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture, stay informed about styles and brands, support sales goals, communicate with teammates, and follow company policies and procedures. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed to meet business needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
• Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion while partnering with the Store Sales Manager and/or Assistant Managers as needed.
• Working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging customer service and recommend shoe styles and brands that suit customers’ needs.
• Support daily store operations, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
• Keep the store clean, organized, and merchandise easy to shop in accordance with company standards.
• Help drive sales by reviewing store performance, taking accountability for results, and working toward goals.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to promote understanding.
• Follow company policies and procedures, seek feedback, and pursue professional development.
• Promote an inclusive, respectful, positive work environment and support teammates, including assisting with training and development when needed.
• Perform other responsibilities as needed to meet business needs; overtime may be required.
