About The Position

Alterations Specialists complete fittings and alterations to David’s Bridal standards and report to the Store Manager. They provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service and technical expertise while representing the David’s Bridal brand as members of the store team. The role supports customers throughout their alterations experience, including explaining and promoting alteration and personalization services, consulting on gown fit and customization, conducting fittings and garment alterations, and ensuring garments meet quality standards before delivery. It also includes supporting sales, store operations, customer flow, inventory management, transactions, and the upkeep of a clean, organized alterations room.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–2 years of prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
Prior sewing experience required.
Ability to perform fittings and sewing to David’s Bridal standards.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Ability to perform the physical activities and visual, hearing, and manual-dexterity tasks described for the role.

Nice To Haves

Prior sewing experience in a bridal and/or special occasion production environment is preferred.
Experience with a computerized POS system is a plus.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers by phone, virtual chat, and in person with friendly enthusiasm; communicate clearly, adapt to customers’ needs, solve problems, and resolve conflicts.
Use store systems to manage customer flow and deliver a five-star customer experience.
Maintain service levels by being prepared, welcoming, meeting customer needs, and completing operational checklist tasks.
Provide exceptional service to multiple customers at one time and contribute to the store’s customer-service goals.
Address customer concerns proactively and partner with or escalate issues to the leadership team when appropriate.
Explain the role of alterations in perfecting a dress for an event and promote alteration services and personalization options.
Assist stylists in closing sales by advising customers on gown fit and customization.
Maintain store standards and comply with the dress code policy.
Greet and escort alterations customers to and from appointments.
Inspect altered, steamed, or pressed garments to verify their condition before final delivery.
Respond promptly to customer questions with product and service information, and build relationships that support customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Process special-order pickups and maintain inventory and merchandise quality standards.
Ensure alteration pricing complies with company standards.
Manage alterations, fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning according to company standards.
Resolve customer service issues promptly and in accordance with company guidelines.
Support cash-wrap processes and accurately process transactions.
Keep the alterations room clean and well organized.
Perform other duties and tasks assigned by store management.
