About The Position

Alterations Specialists complete customer fittings and garment alterations to David’s Bridal standards. Reporting to the Store Manager, they provide friendly, knowledgeable, and technically skilled customer service while supporting the store team and representing the David’s Bridal brand. The role includes sewing, fitting, steaming, pressing, spot-cleaning, and inspecting garments, as well as advising customers and stylists on fit, customization, alteration services, and personalization options. Alterations Specialists also support customer flow, sales, store operations, and the maintenance of a clean, organized alterations room.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
One to two years of prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty-store environment.
Prior sewing experience.
Ability to perform sewing and fittings to David’s Bridal standards.
Ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds.
Manual dexterity to use POS terminals, count money, steam garments, use computers, and handle telephone calls.
Ability to see at close and distant ranges, use peripheral vision and depth perception, and use computers, electronic devices, and phones for extended periods.
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, twist, move throughout the store, and talk to and hear customers.

Nice To Haves

Prior sewing experience in a bridal or special-occasion production environment is preferred.
Prior experience with a computerized POS system is a plus.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers by phone, virtual chat, and in person with friendly enthusiasm, communicating clearly and adapting to their needs.
Use store systems to manage customer flow and deliver a five-star customer experience.
Maintain service standards and complete operational checklist tasks while meeting customers’ practical and emotional needs.
Provide exceptional service to multiple customers and contribute to the store’s customer-service goals.
Address customer concerns, resolving issues promptly and escalating or partnering with leadership when appropriate.
Explain and promote alteration services and personalization options; consult with customers about gown fit and customization to assist stylists in closing sales.
Maintain store standards and dress-code requirements.
Greet and escort alterations customers to and from appointments.
Inspect altered, steamed, or pressed garments to ensure they meet quality standards and are in pristine condition before delivery.
Respond promptly to customer questions with product and service information, and build relationships that support satisfaction and loyalty.
Process special-order pickups and maintain inventory and merchandise quality standards.
Ensure alteration pricing meets company standards.
Perform alterations, fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot-cleaning to company standards.
Support cash-wrap processes and accurately process transactions.
Keep the alterations room clean and organized.
Perform other duties assigned by store management.
