About The Position

The Seafood Clerk provides friendly, courteous service to customers and performs seafood preparation, merchandising, and department upkeep. Training is provided at the store level. Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job. Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management. The role requires working on your feet throughout a 4–8 hour shift in a cold, damp environment, with bending, stooping, and lifting up to 60 pounds.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

For store/facility teammates applying internally, a minimum of six months of employment with Schnucks is preferred.
For Store Support Center teammates applying internally, a minimum of one year of employment with Schnucks is preferred.
Internal candidates must be in good standing, not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline.
Internal candidates invited to interview must have manager approval based on performance.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly and courteous service to customers.
Maintain regular, reliable attendance.
Follow company safety and sanitation procedures.
Maintain the cleanliness of the work area, equipment, seafood cases, and backroom.
Prepare product for cases.
Pull product from cases at closing for proper storage.
Handle live seafood.
Prepare party trays and selected seafood.
Suggestively sell and sample products for customers.
Cook, fry, and steam products for customers.
Perform other duties as assigned by store management.
