About The Position

The Seafood Clerk provides friendly, courteous service to customers while preparing and handling seafood products. The role includes maintaining a clean and safe work area, preparing seafood and party trays, assisting customers with product suggestions and samples, and cooking, frying, or steaming products. Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
• Must be able to bend and stoop.
• Must be able to work in a cold, damp environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Must be able to work on feet for the entire shift, which is 4–8 hours.

Nice To Haves

• For store or facility teammates applying internally, a minimum of six months of employment with Schnucks is preferred.
• For Store Support Center teammates applying internally, a minimum of one year of employment with Schnucks is preferred.
• Internal candidates must be in good standing and not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline.
• Internal candidates invited for an interview must have manager approval based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers.
• Maintain regular, reliable attendance.
• Follow company safety and sanitation procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area, equipment, seafood cases, and backroom.
• Prepare product for seafood cases.
• At closing, pull product from cases for proper storage.
• Handle live seafood.
• Prepare party trays and selected seafood.
• Suggest products and provide samples to customers.
• Cook, fry, and steam products for customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned at the discretion of store management.
