About The Position

Salt & Straw is hiring Scoopers to create memorable guest experiences and help operate its ice cream shop. Scoopers welcome guests, share stories about flavors and ingredients, offer samples, and help guests choose their next favorite scoop. The role includes scooping ice cream, making waffle cones, operating the register, preparing products to recipes and quality standards, and assisting with online and delivery orders.

Scoopers also restock ice cream, supplies, and retail products; maintain food safety, cleanliness, and organization; and help with dishwashing and other operational tasks. Team members work collaboratively to keep the shop running smoothly and provide a positive, supportive environment. The role requires availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays, at least three shifts per week, including two closing shifts. The work environment includes common food allergens such as peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs, soy, wheat, and seafood.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and create welcoming experiences for guests.
• Share flavor stories, offer samples, and help guests discover flavors.
• Scoop ice cream, make waffle cones, operate the register, and support daily shop operations.
• Greet guests, answer questions, and help guide the flow of the shop.
• Process transactions accurately and assist with online and delivery orders.
• Prepare products according to recipes and quality standards.
• Restock ice cream, supplies, and retail products throughout shifts.
• Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and organization standards across the shop.
• Support dishwashing, cleaning, and other operational tasks.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a positive and supportive environment.
