About The Position

NORY is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Lead Teacher for seasonal School Break Day Camps in the Boston area. The role involves leading a class to prioritize camper safety, fun, and NORY’s core values of resilience, inquisitiveness, and empathy. Teachers lead STEM projects and daily activities, celebrate campers’ growth and mistakes, find creative solutions, and work with a team of teachers. NORY provides STEM training; a STEM background is not required.

Camp operates on days when schools are closed for holiday breaks. Camp-day hours are 7:45 AM–5:30 PM, and locations include Brookline, Downtown Boston, Cambridge, and Waltham. Compensation is $164–$174 per day. Full availability is not required, though candidates with greater flexibility will be prioritized for staffing. Teachers may also receive early consideration for seasonal full-time summer camp positions.

Requirements

• Love children and be empathetic and caring.
• Be able to turn ordinary activities into exciting games.
• Have strong classroom and behavioral management skills.
• Be punctual and professional.
• Be enthusiastic about learning new things; a STEM background is not required.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred 2+ years of experience working with children ages 3–12.
• Be a funny storyteller and positive problem solver.
• Greater scheduling flexibility; full availability is not required but will be prioritized.
