School-Age Childcare Assistant – After School
About The Position
Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a part-time School-Age Childcare Assistant for its After School Program at Croydon Village School in Croydon, New Hampshire, for the 2026–2027 school year. The program follows the school calendar and runs from 2:15 to 5:30 p.m. The role pays $16.00 per hour and is classified as non-exempt. The assistant helps provide school-age children with a safe, healthy, and engaging environment. The position supports children’s learning through play and positive experiences, encourages their curiosity and confidence, and contributes to program operations. The role is suited to people who enjoy working with children, supporting their growth, and collaborating with teammates and families. Healthy Kids Programs provides childcare for employees’ school-age children ages 5–12 who are enrolled in the program, on the days and during the hours the employee works. Employer contributions cover the cost of that care.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be medically cleared of communicable diseases, including TB.
- Be warm, friendly, and upbeat, with exceptional people skills.
- Be professional, reliable, and prompt.
- Be physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds, and keep up with the children.
Nice To Haves
- Preferably have one year of experience working with children under 13.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate hands-on activities using the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities, as well as homework completion.
- Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and serve as a positive role model for children in the program.
- Follow state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
- Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
