About The Position

The Scheduling Specialist schedules testing and procedures for a single department accurately and promptly, supporting productivity and efficient patient flow. The role also checks medical necessity for patients with Medicare as their primary payer to ensure documentation complies with applicable guidelines. The specialist follows applicable regulations and organizational policies and procedures, meets customer service and productivity guidelines set by leadership, and participates in special projects or performs other assigned duties. This PRN, as-needed position is based in the Surgery Department at Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery in Plano, Texas. Work is on variable day shifts. The department performs endoscopy and lithotripsy procedures and is described as fast-paced with a strong team environment. The facility is an 18-bed physician-owned hospital serving Collin, Dallas, and Denton counties and offering surgical, outpatient, and imaging services.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of related experience.
Good written, oral, and telephone communication skills.

Nice To Haves

CHAA – Certified Healthcare Access Associate upon hire preferred.

Responsibilities
