Scheduling Specialist - Surgery - PRN
About The Position
The Scheduling Specialist - Surgery (PRN) at Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery is responsible for scheduling testing and/or procedures for the Surgery department in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring maximum productivity and expedient patient flow. This role also performs checks of medical necessity for patients with Medicare as a primary payor to ensure documentation compliance. The specialist stays abreast of and complies with applicable regulations, entity and/or system policies and procedures, and maintains customer service and/or productivity guidelines set forth by leadership. They may also participate in special projects or complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required
- 1 year of related experience required
- Good written, oral, and telephone communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- CHAA – Certified Healthcare Access Associate upon hire preferred.
Responsibilities
- Schedules testing and/or procedures for single department in an accurate and timely manner ensuring maximum productivity and expedient patient flow.
- Performs checks of medical necessity for patients with Medicare as a primary payor to ensure documentation is in compliance with applicable guidelines.
