About The Position

Baptist Health Medical Group is seeking a full-time Scheduling Coordinator for the OBGYN department in the Breckenridge Lane area. This first-shift position involves making appointments for patients via phone and in person for doctor visits, testing, and procedures at the hospital and other facilities. The role also includes scheduling combined cases with a plastic surgeon for tumor removal, collaborating with various hospital departments (Nurse Navigation, Genetics, Oncology, Surgery Scheduling, Plastic Surgery, Radiology), updating medical records, and performing general office duties such as scanning patient records into OnBase and obtaining insurance authorizations. Clear and concise communication and strong organizational skills are essential for surgical scheduling.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One to three years clerical experience in a physician office preferred.
• Computer knowledge such as Medical Office and Scheduling Applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make appointments for patients in office and on the phone to see the doctors, testing and to schedule procedures in the hospital and at other facilities.
• Schedule combined cases at the same time of tumor removal with plastic surgeon.
• Work closely with other departments in the hospital including but not limited to Nurse navigation, Geneticists, Oncology, Surgery scheduling, Plastic Surgery and Radiology.
• Update medical record accordingly.
• Perform other general office assignments.
• Daily scanning of patient records into OnBase.
• Obtain appropriate authorization through the patient's insurance company.
