About The Position

The Scaler Operator works in an underground limestone mine within the Aggregates line of business. The role involves scaling loose rock from mine walls and ceilings to maintain safe working conditions, operating scaling equipment and tools in confined spaces, inspecting work areas for hazards, and performing basic equipment checks. The operator works with team members to support safe and productive quarry operations. The successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require ongoing FMCSA-regulated drug and alcohol testing. The work environment includes moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise levels.

Requirements

Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively in underground environments.
Strong safety mindset and ability to recognize and mitigate hazards.
Ability to follow procedures, communicate clearly, and work as part of a team.
Mechanical aptitude and comfort performing basic equipment inspections.
Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently in physically demanding conditions.
Successful completion of a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
