Plant Helper - Underground Limestone Mine
About The Position
The Plant Helper supports plant operations at an underground limestone mine by handling materials safely and efficiently, assisting with equipment cleanup and maintenance, monitoring production areas, and performing general labor to help maintain continuous, reliable operations. The role requires following safety procedures and reporting operational issues promptly. Work is primarily around moving mechanical equipment and may involve inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise levels. Successful candidates must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug and alcohol screening, and a background check. Some positions require ongoing FMCSA-regulated drug and alcohol testing. Compensation is $26.70 per hour, plus an additional $0.50 per hour underground rate. Benefits are provided through the union.
Requirements
- Ability to work safely around machinery and moving equipment.
- Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, standing, and working in varied conditions.
- Willingness to learn plant processes and operate tools and equipment as trained.
- Strong attention to detail and reliability in completing assigned tasks.
