Save-A-Lot Clerk
About The Position
The Save A Lot Clerk processes and stocks products, builds and fills displays, and receives customer or associate payments for goods and services. The role provides friendly, genuine customer care while helping maintain efficient store operations. No experience is required. Starting pay depends on experience, internal equity, and scope of responsibility; the stated range is minimum wage up to $18 per hour at Illinois locations. Benefits eligibility depends on full-time or part-time status. Position requirements may vary by store location and may be changed at management’s discretion.
Requirements
- No experience required.
- Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Present information and respond to questions from customers or associates.
- Understand basic math concepts, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, reach, communicate, and lift or move up to 25 pounds.
- Frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally sit, lift overhead, crawl, smell, and lift or move up to 100 pounds.
- Have close-distance vision, ability to adjust focus, and ability to distinguish colors.

Responsibilities
- Acknowledge customers, meet their needs, and resolve concerns promptly to support store sales.
- Process and stock deliveries and back stock.
- Build and fill displays.
- Scan products and process customer orders accurately, efficiently, and promptly.
- Handle all forms of tender and coupons properly.
- Process and remain accountable for other services handled at the register.
- Answer incoming phone calls using proper phone etiquette.
- Perform assigned fixed activities.
- Assist with store maintenance and cleaning.
- Follow store and department policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
