About The Position

Responsible for ensuring assigned production machines, machine parts, and areas are cleaned and sanitized. The role follows safe chemical-handling, labeling, and lockout/tagout procedures, and helps maintain a clean, organized production facility. The position works in a refrigerated food manufacturing plant, where conditions may be wet or dry, temperatures may range from 25°F to 110°F, and exposure to hazardous materials and waste is frequent. Repetitive lifting, kneeling, bending, and hand, wrist, and finger activities are required.

Requirements

Basic arithmetic skills.
Ability to work various shifts, including night shift, and some weekends as required.
Repetitive lifting, kneeling, and bending with items in excess of 60 lbs. is required.
Repetitive hand, wrist, and finger activities are required.

Nice To Haves

Experience as a sanitation worker in a food plant environment.
High school education or equivalent.
OSHA knowledge.
Spanish-speaking ability.
Ability to read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

Follow safe chemical-handling procedures, the LOTO program, and chemical-labeling guidelines.
Safely clean the production facility and equipment.
Help co-workers, support a positive team environment, and assist with cleaning any area that needs it.
Verify that the assigned area is ready for sanitation.
Dismantle, clean, and reassemble assigned production equipment as needed, following SSOPs.
Identify and report equipment opportunities; reassemble and test production machines and equipment.
Follow the proper sanitation steps and clean and sanitize areas of responsibility.
Inspect equipment after cleaning.
Verify the assigned area is ready for production after sanitation is complete.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the assigned work area.
