About The Position

The Sanitation Operator supports sanitation activities throughout the facility and contributes to food safety efforts, including audits, execution of the HACCP program, sanitation work, and coordination with operations personnel on sanitation issues. The role works with production to coordinate and track food safety and plant initiatives. The position also supports wastewater sampling and analysis as directed by the Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
Must work safely and efficiently, following all safety procedures and using safety equipment.
Must be able to troubleshoot small problems and recognize when issues require input from higher levels of authority.
Must be willing to ask for assistance when a process is unclear.
Must be able to operate equipment effectively after the appropriate break-in period.
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Follow the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
Clean and maintain walls, ceilings, floors, pipes, and miscellaneous fixtures as required.
Assist in cleaning processing equipment.
Support the pest control program by reporting pest sightings to the Pest Control Service.
Assist with GMP and sanitation audits.
Learn the usage and application of cleaning compounds and sanitizers to support compliance with the chemical management program.
Participate in sanitation and food safety training.
Maintain a solid working knowledge of operations and corresponding systems.
Assist with maintaining sanitation requirements and related training.
Perform wastewater sampling and analysis as directed by the Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
