About The Position

The Sanitation Laborer maintains sanitary conditions of equipment by following effective sanitation methods and meeting regulatory requirements. The role requires a safety-minded attitude that supports and enhances the company’s safety culture. The position involves night-shift work, with overtime and weekends as needed. The training period is a minimum of six months meeting all listed requirements and may last up to three years.

Requirements

Able to work night shift; overtime and weekends as needed.
Effective communication skills.
Learn and understand the three main areas of contamination.
Able to lift more than 50 pounds occasionally throughout an eight-hour shift.
Able to tolerate hot, steamy, and wet conditions for 8 or more hours per day.
Able to work around and with chemicals, including alkaline detergents, acid and chlorine liquids, and caustic soaps.
Able to stand, walk, and climb for 8 or more hours per day.

Nice To Haves

Ability to speak English preferred.
Previous related experience preferred.
Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and USDA regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

Disassemble equipment and clean it to regulatory standards using high-pressure water at 140–160°F, proper chemical allocation, and cleaning applications.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned and needed to contribute to team effort.
Adhere to break and lunch requirements for the position.
Learn and execute the eight steps for sanitizing equipment and work areas and other requirements for a quality operation.
Inspect equipment after the sanitation process is complete.
Understand the corrective action process.
