Requirements
- Valid Cosmetology and/or Barber License (requirements vary by state/province)
- Strong technical haircutting skills and the ability to help others grow their skills and confidence
- Proven leadership ability or readiness to take on full salon responsibility
- Excellent communication skills and the desire to motivate, develop, and support a team
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage day-to-day salon operations
- Comfort with technology and salon tools (scheduling systems, metrics, and reports)
- A goal-oriented mindset with a focus on team performance and customer experience
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Nice To Haves
- Previous leadership experience is helpful but not always required. Many Salon Managers are promoted from within after showing strong leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team
- Manage salon operations
- Deliver haircuts, depending on salon needs
- Coach, develop, and motivate a team of stylists
- Ensure clear systems, expectations, and operational support
- Utilize innovative salon technology (Online Check-In, Great Clips App)
- Foster a team environment where stylists help each other succeed
