About The Position

The Sales Teammate’s primary responsibility is to fulfill Buckle’s mission of creating the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for Guests. The role involves sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by Store Management, including cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine facility cleaning. Teammates are expected to provide knowledgeable, engaging Guest service, meet sales goals, support a positive team culture, and maintain a clean, organized, shoppable store. No prior experience or training is required. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and the day of or day after Thanksgiving and Christmas, based on store and business needs.
Ability to lift and maneuver 30 pounds throughout the store and backroom.
Ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach, climb or balance and jump, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear; occasional sitting is required.
Vision abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide legendary service throughout the store.
Answer questions about the store and merchandise, recommend and locate products, and suggest additional items to meet Guest needs.
Demonstrate products and share product knowledge, sales education, current promotions, and relevant policies with Guests and Teammates.
Meet personal sales-per-hour, average sales, total net sales, and Guest loyalty performance goals set by Store Management.
Assist Guests with fitting merchandise, checking out and bagging purchases, preparing alterations, returns, exchanges, special orders, and locating merchandise at other stores.
Build Guest relationships and develop a client-based business through loyalty and preferred Guest programs.
Use the Sales Presentation Guide daily and help improve Teammates’ sales presentations.
Recognize recruiting opportunities, create relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred, and maintain a professional, respectful attitude that supports a positive floor culture.
Present merchandise to maximize sales and merchandise turn; stay current on product range and help identify product improvements and ideas.
Keep the sales floor sized appropriately and display new freight appropriately.
Work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and the day of or day after Thanksgiving and Christmas, depending on store and business needs.
Open and close cash registers; use magnetic card readers; count money; separate charge slips, coupons, and vouchers; balance cash drawers; and make deposits.
Recognize and respond to security risks and theft, follow Loss Prevention guidelines including daily bag and purse checks, and follow payment, exchange, and POS procedures.
Perform merchandising tasks including freight handling, re-merchandising, display preparation, price markdowns, and transfers.
Maintain a clean, organized, shoppable store and communicate merchandise-handling concerns to the Store Manager and Leadership Team.
Report policy violations and Teammate or Guest concerns to the Store Manager, District Manager, and/or Human Resources in a timely and confidential manner.
Apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics, policies, procedures, and handbooks; contribute to a positive team spirit; and complete special projects and other assigned duties.
