About The Position

The Sales Teammate’s primary responsibility is to fulfill Buckle’s mission of creating the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for Guests. The role performs sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by Store Management, including cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine facility cleaning. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. No prior experience or training is required.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, potentially including mornings, evenings, weekends, and specified holiday periods.
Ability to lift and maneuver 30 pounds throughout the store and backroom.
Ability to perform the physical duties of the role, including standing, walking, handling items, reaching, climbing or balancing, jumping, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and talking or hearing.
Vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Greet Guests warmly, provide legendary service, answer questions, and help Guests find merchandise suited to their needs.
Recommend additional items, create wardrobing experiences, demonstrate products, and share product knowledge with Guests and Teammates.
Maintain knowledge of promotions, store policies, payment and exchange procedures, and security practices.
Achieve sales goals and performance standards, support Teammates’ sales presentations, and contribute to Guest loyalty and business-building efforts.
Assist Guests with fitting merchandise, checkout, bagging purchases, alterations, returns, exchanges, special orders, and locating merchandise at other stores.
Build Guest relationships and maintain knowledge of Buckle’s customer service expectations.
Recognize recruiting opportunities, build relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred, and maintain a professional, respectful attitude.
Present merchandise to maximize sales and merchandise turn; maintain product knowledge; and keep the sales floor sized and new freight appropriately displayed.
Operate cash registers, balance cash drawers, handle payment materials, and make deposits.
Recognize and respond to security risks and theft; follow Loss Prevention guidelines, including daily bag and purse checks.
Perform merchandising tasks, including freight handling, re-merchandising, display preparation, price markdowns, and transfers.
Keep the store clean, organized, and shoppable, and communicate merchandise handling concerns to the Store Manager and Leadership Team.
Report policy violations and Teammate or Guest concerns promptly and confidentially to the appropriate leaders or Human Resources.
Follow Buckle’s Code of Ethics, policies, procedures, and handbooks; contribute to a positive team spirit and complete special projects or other assigned duties.
Work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and the day of or day after Thanksgiving and Christmas, according to store and business needs.
