About the position
As a Mid-Market Sales Representative at Newsela, you will be responsible for building relationships with key decision makers at the school district level and selling Newsela's suite of products. This role involves pipeline management, lead generation campaigns, and managing sales through the entire lifecycle. You will also need to have a strong understanding of your territory's funding, state initiatives, demographics, and K-12 education landscape to inform your sales strategy. This remote position ideally requires the incumbent to be located in California.
Responsibilities
- Building relationships with key decision makers at the school district level
- Selling Newsela's suite of products to bring engaging reading content to districts
- Pipeline management and forecasting
- Designing lead generation campaigns
- Managing sales through the entire lifecycle
- Becoming well-versed in territory's funding, state initiatives, demographics, and K-12 education landscape
- Informing overall sales strategy based on territory knowledge
- Representing the future of education and enhancing how districts and teachers engage students
- Providing time-saving approaches for educators to design customized learning
- Owning territory and managing the entire lifecycle of a sale
- Building new business relationships
- Achieving revenue targets
- Working with a cross-functional team to scale Newsela's growth
- Demonstrating expertise in networking, prospecting, and building pipeline
- Knowledge of MEDDPICC sales methodology
- Experience forecasting SaaS business
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a Sales Rep selling SaaS products or digital education solutions
- Proven track record of hitting or exceeding sales quotas
- Expertise in networking, prospecting, and building pipeline
- Knowledge of MEDDPICC sales methodology
- Experience forecasting SaaS business
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Familiarity with the K-12 education landscape
- Ability to work remotely and manage sales through the entire lifecycle
- Ideally located in California (territory served)
