About the position
As a Sales Representative for Newsela, you will be responsible for building relationships with key decision makers in the education sector and selling Newsela's suite of products. This remote role requires you to manage the entire sales lifecycle, including pipeline management, forecasting, and closing deals. Additionally, you will need to have a deep understanding of your territory's funding, state initiatives, demographics, and K-12 education landscape to inform your sales strategy. This role offers the opportunity to have a direct impact on expanding Newsela's reach and adoption in K-12 classrooms nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Building relationships with key decision makers at the district or school level
- Selling Newsela's suite of products to bring engaging reading content to districts
- Managing sales through the entire lifecycle
- Conducting pipeline management and forecasting
- Becoming well-versed in territory's funding, state initiatives, demographics, and K-12 education landscape
- Informing overall sales strategy based on territory knowledge
- Owning territory and managing the entire lifecycle of a sale
- Building new business relationships to bring Newsela's solution to classrooms
- Working with a cross-functional team to scale Newsela's growth
- Having a direct impact on the expansion and adoption of Newsela products
- Bringing expertise in selling SaaS products and exceeding quotas
- Navigating multiple stakeholders to engineer the right solution for each customer
- Taking a high volume/transactional approach to sales and building a book of business
- Thriving in a fast-paced environment and driving sales quickly to a close
- Having a good grasp of pedagogy and connecting classroom challenges to Newsela's solutions
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience selling SaaS products and meeting or exceeding quotas
- Demonstrated expertise in navigating multiple stakeholders to find the right solution for each customer
- Experience building a book of business and taking a high volume/transactional approach to sales
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can close sales quickly
- Knowledge of pedagogy and ability to connect classroom challenges to Newsela's solutions
- Base compensation range of $75,000 + OTE with additional variable component, incentive stock options, and benefits
