About The Position

The Sales Floor Supervisor is accountable for driving customer service to achieve profitable sales growth by leading and engaging associates, managing company merchandise standards and execution, and training and developing associates to carry out sales-building programs.

The role directs customer service and sales activities, resolves customer concerns, models outstanding service, and ensures staff are scheduled appropriately. It manages merchandise presentation and execution, including Put to Fixture, SET, visual standards, pricing, signing, sales-floor recovery, and fitting-room processes. The supervisor also trains associates on jcp.com pickup processes and transactions, manages Ship from Store, Buy Online Pick Up In Store, and Curbside Pickup orders within required time periods, and monitors omnichannel metrics.

The supervisor drives profitable sales in Fine Jewelry, Mattress, and Window specialty businesses through associate leadership and training, care and protection plans, planned floor moves and graphics, productivity processes, sell-through opportunities, and proper handling of defective merchandise and returns to vendors or warehouses. The position teaches, trains, and coaches associates; supports sourcing and hiring hourly store talent with the Assistant Manager of Merchandise and Customer Experience Supervisor; and addresses performance issues. It is also accountable for meeting standards related to shrink, safety, omnichannel, scheduling efficiency, associate relations and engagement, customer service, profit, productivity, and attendance.

Responsibilities

• Direct customer service and sales activities in the store and resolve customer issues and concerns.
• Model and reinforce outstanding customer service and schedule staff appropriately to maximize sales and service.
• Manage merchandise standards and execution, including Put to Fixture, SET, visual processes, pricing, signing, and merchandise presentation.
• Lead planning and execution of merchandise and visual elements and identify local opportunities to drive sales.
• Oversee sales-floor recovery and fitting-room processes, maintaining efficient and clean standards.
• Train, mentor, and coach associates on jcp.com pickup processes and transaction procedures for delivery and returns.
• Manage Ship from Store, Buy Online Pick Up In Store, and Curbside Pickup orders within prescribed time periods.
• Monitor and share omnichannel metrics and reporting, and take action to resolve issues.
• Drive profitable sales growth in Fine Jewelry, Mattress, and Window specialty businesses by leading and engaging associates.
• Lead specialty associate training and care/protection plans; manage SET processes, planned floor moves, graphics, and Productivity Standards Program processes.
• Identify sell-through opportunities and remerchandise the selling floor to increase rate of sale.
• Oversee proper execution of defective merchandise and return-to-vendor/warehouse activities to reduce shrink in specialty businesses.
• Teach, train, and coach associates; partner with the Assistant Manager of Merchandise and Customer Experience Supervisor to source and hire hourly store talent.
• Develop associates, coach in the moment, and address performance issues.
• Meet established performance standards for shrink and safety initiatives, omnichannel, scheduling efficiency, associate relations and engagement, customer service, profit, productivity, and attendance.
