The Sales Floor Department Supervisor leads and enables associates to deliver a strong customer experience. The role includes coaching and training associates, delegating and following up on daily tasks, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage. Supervisors support customer-facing sales and service, as well as non-customer-facing work such as down stocking, inventory management, and area recovery. The supervisor promotes store safety by monitoring power-equipment use, coaching safe behaviors and lifting techniques, conducting safety walks, and reporting hazards. They work with leaders to identify and share practices that support sales and service objectives, may supervise associates in other departments as needed, and communicate concerns, issues, praise, and morale updates to management. They may occasionally open or close the store or serve as manager-on-duty. Regular travel is not required, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed.
