About The Position

This is a Hybrid position, which combines both in office and off-site work. Associates are required to work at least four days in the office each week, but also have the flexibility to work off-site. The Sales Engineer III is responsible to manage Customer financials focusing on; Quoting Customer, obtaining Purchase / Tool Orders, address extraordinary costs and obtain customer approval for recovery throughout the program/project life utilizing internal and Customer systems. This role establishes and maintains relationships with OEM purchasing, engineering and program teams as the primary commercial interface with OEM customers. The Sales Engineer III participates in customer program/project team meetings and is responsible to report all financial matters to the relevant functional groups. This role supports the development of multi-year OEM business acquisition strategies, aligned to vehicle platforms, model cycles and sourcing timelines, and achieves profit objectives consistent with North America Business Unit budget. The Sales Engineer III manages pricing utilizing Sumitomo's internal systems. They schedule and champion regular Open Issues meeting with customers (Buyer) and support customer program team meetings. The role requires knowledge on Sumitomo's products and general understanding of Sumitomo's Manufacturing. The Sales Engineer III assists the Sales team in developing new/improved processes and procedures and maintains a professional demeanor at all times.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years Automotive Sales Account Management Experience.
  • Wire Harness Commercial experience with Stellantis is preferred.
  • Financial, analytical, negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as required.
  • Ability to be on call as needed to support meetings outside regular hours.

Responsibilities
