Sales Consultant - Full Time
About The Position
As a Sales Consultant Trainee, you will help deliver CarMax’s customer-first experience by building genuine relationships, understanding customer needs, and guiding customers toward vehicles that suit them. CarMax provides paid training and mentorship; prior auto sales experience is not required. The role involves helping customers throughout the vehicle-shopping process while emphasizing honesty and transparency. Sales Consultants earn an average of $65,000 annually, and top performers can earn $90,000 or more annually. The hourly rate is $7.75–$20.00, and the position is eligible for commission.

Responsibilities
- Help customers find vehicles that fit their needs using knowledge of CarMax inventory.
- Guide customers through the process, including appraisals, test drives, and financing applications.
- Listen actively and provide clear, honest information to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Complete accurate transaction documentation.
- Collaborate with team members to meet customer needs and achieve store goals.
- Maintain a professional, customer-first approach in every interaction.
- Stay informed about CarMax products, services, and promotions.
- Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety requirements and maintain a clean, orderly work area.

- Full-time hourly or commissioned associates can accrue up to 48 hours of paid sick time per year.
- Full-time hourly or commissioned associates receive 80 to 200 hours of vacation time per year after a 90-day waiting period, depending on years of continuous service.
- Full-time hourly or commissioned associates receive 8 hours of pay for each of 6 scheduled paid holidays per year, plus 1 floating holiday.
- Holiday Premium Pay may apply when an eligible associate works on a scheduled holiday due to business need.
- Full-time salaried associates receive paid time away, with no specified limit, for sick time, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, and floating holidays, subject to manager approval.
