Full Time - Sales Associate - Paint - Opening
About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you welcome customers and help them find products and services for their home improvement needs. You listen to customers, answer questions, assist with product selection and merchandise handling, and help ensure customer needs are met. This opening is for the Paint department, where duties may include tinting and mixing paint. Associates may also cross-train and assist in other store areas based on hiring needs and skillsets. The work may involve inside and outside conditions, variable climates, noise, moving equipment, prolonged standing or sitting, and lifting merchandise. Occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed, but regular travel is not required.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
- Follow lifting guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts and powered equipment may be used as needed, with proper training or assistance.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
- Military or veteran experience; Lowe’s encourages military and veteran talent to apply.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Help customers locate, select, and handle merchandise.
- Down-stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately and on time.
- Cross-train in other store areas to support customer service.
- Prepare department merchandise for customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
