About The Position

The Sales Associate serves as a customer-facing member of Goodwill’s retail team in a collaborative environment. The role provides professional, courteous customer service in person and by phone; helps keep merchandise available, organized, and presentable on the sales floor; and accurately processes transactions. Associates also maintain a clean, orderly store and register area, follow security practices, and support general housekeeping. Requirements

Effectively communicate with customers and Goodwill associates.
Provide exceptional customer service.
Settle customer complaints.
Perform basic math skills.
Stand for prolonged periods, up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift.
Bend and lift up to 40 pounds frequently.
Have basic working knowledge of computer applications and the internet.

Nice To Haves

At least six months of previous work experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience working in a retail environment.
Excellent customer service-related skills.
Working knowledge of a cash register.
Complete fluency in English and multilingual ability.

Responsibilities

Provide professional and courteous service to customers in and outside the store and over the phone.
Ensure merchandise is placed on the sales floor in a timely manner.
Accurately ring items on the register.
Handle cash accurately, including making change and operating and maintaining the cash register, check and charge card machine, and calculator.
Maintain knowledge of merchandise and answer customer questions courteously and promptly.
Keep floor merchandise neat and orderly on racks, shelves, and in bins and hangers, and assist customers with purchase selections.
Maintain a clean, professional appearance.
Keep the register area orderly and clean.
Maintain familiarity with store security procedures and exercise security practices when necessary.
Perform general housekeeping, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping shelves, and dusting, including restrooms and dressing rooms.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
