About The Position

The Sales Associate is a part-time position responsible for sales activities in the store, facilitating purchases, and providing customer service. The role also helps maintain a store environment that meets visual merchandising standards and encourages customers to shop. Work takes place in a retail store environment with a usually moderate noise level. The position offers up to 20 hours per week; weekend and evening work may be needed.

Requirements

No retail experience is necessary; at least 3 months of retail experience is a plus.
Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.

High integrity, accountability, reliability, and responsibility, with openness to feedback.
Ability to stay connected with customer needs and create an exciting shopping experience.
Basic computer skills, including point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail.
Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds; stand, walk, reach, and use hands to handle or feel items. The role also requires vision, talking and hearing, and may involve climbing, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

At least 3 months of retail experience.
Knowledge of retail operations, sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

Greet every customer entering the store.
Execute the Five Steps to a Sale at every opportunity.
Offer current promotions and special offers.
Operate the point-of-sale system accurately.
Provide comprehensive service using calendars.com, email marketing, and in-store special orders.
Maintain a store environment that meets visual merchandising standards and engages customers.
Receive and place new shipments.
Reset features and promotions as directed.
Complete regular housekeeping tasks.
