About The Position
The Sales Associate is a part-time, hourly retail position responsible for store sales activities, facilitating purchases, and providing customer service. The role includes greeting customers, following the Five Steps to a Sale, communicating promotions, accurately operating the point-of-sale system, and helping customers through online, email-marketing, and in-store special-order services. The associate also helps maintain the store by meeting visual merchandising standards, receiving and placing shipments, resetting features and promotions, and completing housekeeping tasks. This position is based in a retail store environment and may involve working alone or with others, shift work, and frequent face-to-face and verbal contact with customers. The role is limited to up to 20 hours per week, with weekend and evening availability as needed.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with POS systems and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to perform basic math functions.

Nice To Haves
- At least 3 months of retail experience.
- Knowledge of retail operations, sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, and loss prevention.

Responsibilities
- Greet every customer when they enter the store.

- Offer current promotions and special offers.
- Operate the point-of-sale system accurately.
- Provide comprehensive service using calendars.com, email marketing, and in-store special orders.
- Maintain a store environment that meets visual merchandising standards, engages customers, and encourages purchases.
- Receive and place new shipments.
- Reset features and promotions as directed.
- Complete regular housekeeping tasks.
