About The Position

The Sales Associate is a part-time, hourly retail position responsible for sales activities, facilitating purchases, and providing customer service. The role includes greeting customers, using the point-of-sale system, explaining promotions, and helping customers with services such as email marketing and special orders. Associates also maintain the store environment by meeting visual merchandising standards, receiving and placing shipments, resetting promotional features, and completing housekeeping tasks. The position is based in a retail store environment, with a moderate noise level. The schedule may include evenings and weekends, and the role is listed for up to 20 hours per week. The employee regularly talks and listens, frequently uses their hands, and is required to stand, walk, and reach. The role may occasionally require lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

No retail experience is necessary; at least 3 months of retail experience is a plus.

Nice To Haves

At least 3 months of retail experience.
Knowledge of retail operations, sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

Greet every customer when they enter the store.
Execute the Five Steps to a Sale at every opportunity.
Offer current promotions and special offers.
Operate the point-of-sale system accurately.
Provide comprehensive service using calendars.com, email marketing, and in-store special orders.
Maintain a store environment that meets visual merchandising standards, engages customers, and encourages purchases.
Receive and place new shipments.
Reset features and promotions as directed.
Complete regular housekeeping tasks.
