About The Position

As a Famous Footwear Sales Associate, you create a welcoming store environment and provide a positive shoe-shopping experience that builds customer loyalty. You stay informed about trends, share product knowledge, and help customers find styles that suit their needs and fit well. You are a collaborative team player who celebrates individual and team successes and contributes to an inclusive, supportive store culture.

The role combines customer engagement and sales with daily retail operations. You help keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop; support pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory; and work toward store sales goals. You follow company policies and procedures, communicate with teammates, remain open to feedback, and assist with team training and development when needed. Other responsibilities may be performed as needed to meet business needs, and overtime may be required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
• Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, partnering with the Store Sales Manager as needed.
• Strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, engaging customer service and help customers find suitable styles and the right fit.
• Stay informed about trends and share product knowledge and recommendations with customers.
• Complete daily store tasks, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and easily shoppable store.
• Review store performance and contribute to achieving sales goals.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to ensure understanding.
• Follow company policies and procedures, seek feedback, and work to improve skills.
• Promote an inclusive and respectful work environment and support teammates.
• Assist with training and development when needed.
• Work overtime when required to meet business needs.
