About The Position

As a Famous Footwear Sales Associate, you help create a welcoming store environment and provide engaging customer experiences. You share knowledge of trends, recommend shoes and styles that meet customers’ needs, and help them find the right fit. You contribute to a positive team culture and support customer loyalty to the store, its brands, and the company.

You help keep daily store operations running smoothly, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory. You maintain a clean, organized, and easily shoppable store in accordance with company standards. You review store performance and work toward sales goals, communicate clearly with the team, follow company policies and procedures, seek feedback, and support teammates’ training and development when needed.

This role may include other responsibilities as needed to meet business needs. Overtime may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
• Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, partnering with the Store Sales Manager as needed.
• Strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Stay informed about trends and share relevant knowledge with customers.
• Recommend shoes and styles that meet customers’ needs and help ensure a good fit.
• Review store performance and work toward sales goals.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to support understanding.
• Follow company policies and procedures, seek feedback, and pursue professional development.
• Help maintain an inclusive, respectful, and positive work environment.
• Assist with teammate training and development when needed.
