About The Position

The Sales Associate is a part-time position responsible for handling store sales activities, facilitating purchases, and providing customer service. The role includes greeting customers, supporting sales, operating the point-of-sale system, and helping maintain the store’s visual presentation and cleanliness. The position works in a retail sales environment and may require working evenings and weekends as needed, for up to 20 hours per week.

Requirements

No retail experience is necessary; at least 3 months of retail experience is a plus.
Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.

Self-motivated, passionate about work, optimistic, and solution-oriented.
High integrity, accountability, reliability, and responsibility, and openness to feedback.
Ability to stay connected with customer needs and create an exciting shopping experience.
Basic computer skills, including use of a POS system and Microsoft Office.
Ability to perform basic math functions.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; stand, walk, reach, and perform other physical tasks associated with the retail store environment.

Nice To Haves

At least 3 months of retail experience.
Knowledge of retail operations, sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

Greet every customer when they enter the store.
Execute the Five Steps to a Sale at every opportunity.
Offer current promotions and special offers.
Operate the Point of Sale system accurately.
Provide comprehensive service using calendars.com, email marketing, and in-store special orders.
Maintain a store environment that meets visual merchandising standards, engages customers, and encourages purchases.
Receive and place new shipments.
Reset features and promotions as directed.
Complete regular housekeeping tasks.
