About The Position

The Sales Associate works in the retail store and reports to the Store Manager. The role focuses on assisting customers with product information, including product features, warranties, discounts, deals, and other relevant details. Sales Associates help maintain the store’s visual appearance, displays, and merchandise, and stay aware of trends and competition. They build and maintain customer relationships, work toward sales goals, and represent the store positively. This is a part-time, non-exempt position in the Sporting Goods department.

Responsibilities

Greet customers, determine their needs and wants, and recommend merchandise.
Advise customers on merchandise use and care as needed.
Answer customer questions and concerns promptly and courteously.
Stock and recover merchandise.
Keep the work area clean and organized.
Operate pallet jacks and forklifts as needed.
Ensure proper signage is in place throughout the assigned department.
Use a computer to check prices and inventory.
Assist with inventory preparation.
Create special orders as needed.
Maintain awareness of potential safety hazards in the store for employees and customers.
Handle customer complaints, questions, and concerns professionally and courteously.
Bring in carts from outside.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
