About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you welcome customers, help them locate and select products and services, and support their home improvement needs. You listen to customers, answer questions, organize merchandise, and may occasionally load merchandise. Associates work in a department determined by hiring needs and skillsets, such as Pro Services, Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Tools, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, or Tool Rental. Daily tasks vary by department and may include preparing merchandise to meet customer needs.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to support customer service.
- Prepare merchandise for customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
