About The Position
The Sales Associate serves as a point of contact for customers and supports store profitability, customer satisfaction, and protection of company assets. The role involves helping customers locate and purchase merchandise, operating the cash register, stocking and recovering merchandise, cleaning the store, and completing other duties assigned by the Store Manager. The position requires frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and kneeling. It also involves frequent handling of merchandise and equipment, regular lifting of up to 40 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds, and occasional climbing on a step ladder to heights of six feet. Work takes place in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise and occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
Requirements
- Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of safety policies and practices.
- Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
- Knowledge of basic cash-handling procedures.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to perform cash register functions.
- Ability to stock merchandise.
- Frequent walking and standing, and frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling.
- Ability to handle merchandise and equipment and lift up to 40 pounds frequently and up to 55 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to occasionally climb a step ladder to heights of six feet.

Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers.
- Operate the cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, collect payment, make change, bag merchandise, and assist customers with merchandise as needed.
- Unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise according to company merchandise processes.
- Build merchandise displays and follow merchandise presentation processes.
- Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop floors, and clean the restroom and receiving room.
- Help set up sidewalk displays.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Store Manager.
