About The Position

The Sales Associate serves as a point of contact for customers and supports store operations by maintaining merchandise presentation, stocking products, assisting customers, and processing purchases. The role also includes receiving and unpacking merchandise, building displays, keeping the store clean, and performing other duties that support profitability, customer satisfaction, teamwork, and protection of company assets. The position is based in Wilmington, Illinois. Relocation assistance is not available.

Requirements

Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Understanding of safety policies and practices.
Ability to read and follow plan-o-grams and merchandise presentation guidance.
Knowledge of basic cash-handling procedures.
Basic mathematical skills.
Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
Ability to walk and stand frequently, and to bend, stoop, and kneel frequently.
Ability to push and/or pull rolltainers for stocking merchandise.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently and up to 55 pounds occasionally.
Ability to climb occasionally using a step ladder to heights of six feet.

Responsibilities

Unload trucks and receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes according to company work processes.
Place merchandise in the stockroom or move it directly to the sales floor.
Build merchandise displays and maintain plan-o-grams and merchandise presentation.
Stock, rotate, face, and restock merchandise, including recovered merchandise.
Assist customers by locating merchandise and greeting them.
Operate the cash register and flatbed scanner to itemize and total purchases, bag merchandise, collect payments, and make change.
Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
Bail cardboard, remove trash, dust and mop floors, and clean the restroom and stockroom.
Clean the store's front end and help set up sidewalk displays when necessary.
Follow company policies and procedures and perform other duties as necessary to support profitability, customer satisfaction, teamwork, and protection of company assets.
