About The Position

Join Moon Valley Nurseries’ Christmas Lot Team as a seasonal Sales Associate. Help customers select Christmas trees and related seasonal products, guide them through the sales process, and create a welcoming holiday shopping experience. The company provides training and describes a potential career path into full-time work.

The role runs approximately November 23 to December 24. The lot’s hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; open availability for the day shift and weekend availability are required. Pay is hourly plus tips, with overtime available.

Requirements

• Strong customer interaction skills and comfort closing sales.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of commission-based sales experience.
• Background in customer service, bartending or restaurant work, resorts, or golf courses.
• Retail or seasonal sales experience.
• Familiarity with nurseries, landscaping, or garden products.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an excellent customer experience by greeting customers and learning their needs, including preferred tree size, species, budget, and available space.
• Share product knowledge about tree varieties, freshness, sizes, and care.
• Represent the company in a courteous and professional manner.
• Guide customers from discovery to decision and recommend trees that fit their needs and budget.
• Confidently close sales and address customer questions or hesitations.
• Present and sell add-on items such as tree stands, tree care products, wreaths, garland, and other seasonal products.
• Contribute to daily team sales goals.
• Process payments accurately and promptly, follow cash-handling and point-of-sale procedures, and provide a smooth checkout experience.
• Help keep the lot welcoming and organized, support display setup and tree presentation, and keep selling areas clean, stocked, and safe.
• Coordinate with teammates to keep customers moving through the lot.
• Take on other responsibilities as assigned over time.
