About The Position
Moon Valley Nurseries is hiring a seasonal Christmas Lot Sales Associate to help customers select Christmas trees and create a memorable holiday shopping experience. The role involves guiding customers from their first greeting through the sale, explaining tree varieties and care, recommending products that suit their needs and budget, and selling seasonal add-ons. The company provides training and describes a potential path to a full-time career. The position is seasonal, approximately November 23 through December 24. The lot operates from 10 AM to 9 PM; weekend availability is required, and overtime is available. Work is outdoors for extended periods in conditions that may include cold, heat, rain, sun, and wind. Pay is $15 per hour plus tips. The role is based in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Requirements
- Strong customer interaction skills and comfort closing sales.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive, self-motivated, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols.
- Weekend availability.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in potentially extreme cold, heat, rain, sun, and wind.
- Subject to motor vehicle record and criminal background checks.
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of commission-based sales experience.
- Background in customer service, bartending or restaurant work, resorts, or golf courses.
- Retail or seasonal sales experience.
- Familiarity with nurseries, landscaping, or garden products.
Responsibilities
- Deliver an excellent customer experience by greeting customers and understanding their needs, including tree size, species, budget, and available space.
- Explain tree varieties, freshness, sizes, and care.
- Represent the company courteously and professionally.
- Recommend suitable trees, guide customers through the buying decision, address questions or hesitations, and close sales.
- Present and sell add-ons such as tree stands, tree-care products, wreaths, garland, and other seasonal items.
- Contribute to daily team sales goals.
- Process payments accurately and promptly, follow cash-handling and point-of-sale procedures, and provide a smooth checkout experience.
- Help set up displays and present trees attractively.
- Keep selling areas clean, stocked, safe, welcoming, and organized.
- Coordinate with teammates to keep customers moving through the lot.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned over time.
