About The Position

Join Moon Valley Nurseries’ Christmas Lot Team as a seasonal Sales Associate. Help customers choose the right Christmas tree, guide them from their first greeting through the sale, and create a festive, memorable holiday experience. The company provides training and describes a potential path to a full-time career. Pay is $15 per hour plus tips. The seasonal schedule runs approximately November 23 through December 24, with operating hours of 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Overtime is available, and weekend availability is required.

Requirements

• Weekend availability.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in potentially extreme cold, heat, rain, sun, and wind.
• Subject to motor vehicle record and criminal background checks.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of commission-based sales experience.
• Background in customer service, bartending or restaurants, resorts, or golf courses.
• Retail or seasonal sales experience.
• Familiarity with nurseries, landscaping, or garden products.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an excellent customer experience by greeting customers warmly and learning their needs, including tree size, species, budget, and available space.
• Explain tree varieties, freshness, sizes, and care.
• Represent the company in a courteous and professional manner.
• Guide customers through the buying process and recommend suitable trees.
• Present and sell add-ons such as stands, tree care products, wreaths, garland, and other seasonal items.
• Address customer questions and hesitations, follow through, and close sales.
• Contribute to daily team sales goals.
• Process payments and transactions promptly and accurately, following cash-handling and point-of-sale procedures.
• Provide a smooth checkout experience.
• Help set up displays and present trees attractively.
• Keep selling areas clean, stocked, organized, and safe.
• Coordinate with teammates to keep customers moving through the lot.
• Take on other responsibilities that may be assigned over time.
