About The Position

Moon Valley Nurseries is hiring a seasonal Sales Associate for its Christmas lot team in Mesa, Arizona. The associate helps customers choose Christmas trees and related holiday products, supports them throughout the sales process, and contributes to a festive, memorable customer experience. Training is provided, with the possibility of developing into a full-time career. The role is seasonal, approximately November 23 to December 24. The listed hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; open availability for day shift and weekend availability are required. Pay is hourly plus tips, and overtime is available. Employees work outdoors for extended periods in potentially extreme conditions, including cold, heat, rain, sun, and wind. The work is active and involves sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, using stairs, reaching, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Employment is subject to motor vehicle record and criminal background checks. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of commission-based sales experience.
Background in customer service, bartending or restaurant work, resorts, or golf courses.
Retail or seasonal sales experience.
Familiarity with nurseries, landscaping, or garden products.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and identify their needs, including preferred tree size and species, budget, and available space.
Share product knowledge about tree varieties, freshness, sizes, and care.
Represent the company courteously and professionally.
Guide customers through the sales process, recommend suitable trees, confidently close sales, and address questions or hesitations.
Present and sell add-on products, including tree stands, tree care products, wreaths, garland, and other seasonal items.
Contribute to daily team sales goals.
Process payments promptly and accurately, follow cash-handling and point-of-sale procedures, and provide a smooth checkout experience.
Help set up displays and present trees attractively.
Keep selling areas clean, stocked, safe, welcoming, and organized.
Coordinate with teammates to keep customers moving through the lot.
Take on additional responsibilities as assigned over time.
