About The Position

As a Famous Footwear Sales Associate, you create a welcoming store environment and provide customers with an engaging shoe-shopping experience. You stay informed about trends, share product knowledge, and help customers find shoes that meet their needs and fit well. You contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture and celebrate individual and team successes.

You support daily retail operations, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory, and help keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop. You engage customers, support sales goals, communicate with teammates, follow company policies and procedures, and contribute to team training and development as needed. Other responsibilities may be assigned to meet business needs; overtime may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
• Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, partnering with the Store Sales Manager as needed.
• Strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily store tasks, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
• Help keep the store clean, organized, and merchandise easy to shop in accordance with company standards.
• Engage customers and provide attentive, high-quality service and product recommendations.
• Stay informed about trends and brands and share relevant knowledge with customers.
• Review store performance and work with purpose to achieve sales goals.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to teammates.
• Follow company policies and procedures and seek feedback to improve skills and professional development.
• Support an inclusive, respectful, and positive work environment.
• Assist teammates with training and development when needed.
• Help customers find suitable styles and the right fit.
• Perform other responsibilities as needed to meet business needs; overtime may be required.
