Full Time - Sales Associate - Inside Lawn & Garden - Day
About The Position
The Sales Associate works in the Inside Lawn & Garden department and provides customer service to help shoppers find products and services for home improvement needs. The associate welcomes customers, listens to their needs, answers questions, helps locate and select merchandise, and may occasionally load merchandise. Daily tasks may vary based on department needs and may include organizing and replenishing merchandise, processing orders and deliveries, preparing products for customers, and helping customers through shopping or checkout. The role may also involve cross-training in other store areas and occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores. The position may involve working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and climate conditions, exposure to noise and moving equipment, and lifting merchandise in accordance with Lowe’s lifting guidelines.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
- Follow lifting guidelines, which limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
- Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other store areas to help deliver customer service.
- Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Occasionally load merchandise.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Travel occasionally to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores, if needed.
