About The Position

The Sales Associate works as a Customer Service Associate in the Inside Lawn & Garden department at Lowe’s. The role welcomes customers, helps them find and select products and services for home improvement needs, answers questions, and provides friendly, professional service. Associates also handle and organize merchandise, replenish shelves, process orders and deliveries, and may occasionally load merchandise. Responsibilities can vary by department and customer needs. The role may require occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores, though regular travel is not required.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
• Follow lifting guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds; use team lifts minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
• Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bilingual skills.
• Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
• Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
• Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
• Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
• Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver customer service.
• Prepare merchandise according to customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
• Occasionally travel to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores, if needed.
